What a Home Set Involves
A home set is a planning job with a crane attached. The pick itself is usually straightforward; the parts that go wrong are access, ground conditions and sequencing — whether the machine can get where it needs to be, whether the pad will hold it, and whether the foundation and the crew are actually ready on the day.
We would rather have that conversation a week out than on the morning of. Tell us the home, the site and the date, and we will tell you what we need from you before we roll.

- The site address, access route, and how close a large machine can get
- The ground recent rain, soft fill, septic, buried utilities
- Overhead power lines are the most common reason a set has to be replanned
- The date and who else has to be there (transporter, set crew, foundation)

Do you set manufactured homes onto basements?
Yes — basements, crawl spaces, piers and slabs. What matters most is access and whether the ground around the site will carry the machine, so describe the site when you call.
How far in advance should I book a home set?
As early as you have a date. Home sets involve a transporter, a set crew and a foundation that all have to be ready at once, so the earlier the crane is booked into that sequence the better.
Do you cover Garden City, Dodge City and Liberal for home setting?
Yes. We set homes across southwest Kansas — Garden City, Dodge City, Liberal, Hugoton, Lakin and the smaller towns and rural sites in between. Travel is quoted honestly as part of the job.
What if the site is not ready when you arrive?
It costs everyone money, which is why we ask about the foundation, the access and the ground before we mobilise. If something has slipped, call us as early as you can and we will try to move the booking rather than roll out to a site that is not ready.
